This guide applies only to Automower® models that support Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi helps your Automower® robotic lawn mower stay connected to the Husqvarna Cloud and Automower® Connect app. For Wi-Fi-only models, it is essential for EPOS® wire free navigation (via the Husqvarna Cloud) and firmware updates. For Aspire™ R6V, 308V and 312V, it is also a must when using a local reference station, as these models communicate with the station via Wi-Fi.
Note: Automower® robotic lawn mowers with Wi-Fi connectivity only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. 5 GHz and 6 GHz networks are not supported. Most modern routers broadcast both frequencies, but in some cases 2.4 GHz needs to be activated separately in the router settings.
What happens when Wi-Fi disconnects?
Why is my mower disconnected?
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues
Improve Wi-Fi signal
Regardless of installation type, all Wi-Fi-only models will:
Lose remote control and smart home functionality.
Maintain Bluetooth connectivity within 30 m (98.4 ft).
Be unable to download firmware updates.
The effect on mowing behaviour depends on how your Automower® robotic lawn mower navigates:
Boundary wire installations: Automower® continues mowing normally.
EPOS® wire free installations (via Husqvarna Cloud): Automower® stops and searches for a signal.
Reference station installations (Automower® Aspire™ R6, 312V, 308V): The mower stops if the Wi-Fi connection is lost, as Wi-Fi is required for communication with the reference station. Note: Installation of a local reference station for these models must be performed by an authorised Husqvarna dealer.
Models with AI vision technology: Automower® uses its built-in camera to continue navigation for a short time/distance, but will stop if it doesn’t recover Wi-Fi signal. Read more in AI vision technology on Automower®.

Common reasons:
No Wi-Fi network added in the Automower® Connect app
Router power failure
Wi-Fi network disconnected from the internet
Weak signal or mower out of range
Select the situation that matches your issue:
Wi-Fi network does not appear when pairingIf your Wi-Fi network does not appear in the list when trying to connect Automower® to the app, see the troubleshooting steps in the setup guide: Connect Automower® to Wi-Fi.
Mower shows as disconnected from Wi-Fi
Restart your phone.
Ensure that you have the latest version of the Automower® Connect app. App Store | Google Play
Ensure the router and internet are working.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and that your phone is connected to Automower® via Bluetooth.
Verify that a Wi-Fi network has been added. In the Automower® Connect app, navigate to More > Settings > Automower® Connect > Wi-Fi. Connect Automower® to a Wi-Fi network if there is no Wi-Fi added.
Improve the Wi-Fi signal if it is weak.
Ensure your router is using the 2.4 GHz band. Automower® does not support the 5 GHz or 6 GHz bands.
If the Wi-Fi signal is weak in parts of your lawn, consider strengthening it to maintain a stable connection. Here are some practical options:
Use Wi-Fi extenders or mesh systems: These devices boost Wi-Fi coverage. Make sure any extender or mesh system supports 2.4 GHz, as this is the only frequency Automower® connects to. For outdoor areas, choose extenders designed for outdoor use to withstand weather conditions.
Position your router strategically: Place it as close as possible to the lawn or near windows facing the work area.
Reduce interference: Avoid placing the router near thick walls, metal objects or other electronics that can block signals.
You can verify the signal strength where your mower is located using the app:
Open the Automower® Connect app and sign in.
Navigate to More > Settings > Automower® Connect.
Enter your PIN code when prompted.
Check the signal strength under Wi-Fi.
If the signal is weak, consider adding an extender or adjusting your router placement for better coverage.
For compatible models, your Husqvarna dealer can install an Automower® Connect kit to add mobile connectivity. Check which models support cellular connectivity.
