When and how to reinstall EPOS® in an Automower® wire free installation

In a wire free EPOS® installation, there may be times when you need to adjust your setup or switch between a reference station and EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud (available in select markets). The Reinstall EPOS® feature in the Automower® Connect app helps you adapt to these changes. Before starting the reinstall process, make sure that you are connected to the mower via Bluetooth.

Important: The available reinstall options depend on your Automower® model. Select your model below to see the instructions that apply to you:

Instructions for Automower® NERA models (305E, 310E, 320, 405XE, 410XE, 430X, 450X)

1. Replacing an existing reference station

If you are installing a new reference station in the same location. For example, to replace a damaged unit:

  1. Install the new reference station in the exact same spot as the old one. If the location changes, you’ll need to redo the entire EPOS® setup—including work areas, stay-out zones and other settings.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select Replace reference station.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the new station.

Your existing work areas, stay-out zones and other settings will remain unchanged.

2. Relocating the reference station

If you’re moving the reference station to a new location—for example, due to poor satellite signal or when moving house:

  1. Install the reference station at the new location.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

3. Switching to EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud

If you’re moving from using a reference station to EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  2. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  3. Select New EPOS installation.

  4. Confirm to create a new profile.

  5. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

4. Switching to reference station

If you’re switching from EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud to using a reference station:

  1. Install the new reference station at the designated location.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

5. Using EPOS® in multiple locations

To use your robotic lawn mower with EPOS® in multiple locations—such as your home and summer house:

For EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  2. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  3. Select New EPOS installation.

  4. Confirm to create a new profile.

  5. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

For EPOS® with a reference station:

  1. Install the reference station at the designated location.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > EPOS® Technology > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

Instructions for Automower® NERA models (405VE, 410VE, 430V, 450V)

4. Switching to reference station

If you’re switching from EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud to using a reference station:

  1. Install the new reference station at the designated location.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

5. Using EPOS® in multiple locations

To use your robotic lawn mower with EPOS® in multiple locations—such as your home and summer house:

For EPOS® via the Husqvarna Cloud:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  2. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  3. Select New EPOS installation.

  4. Confirm to create a new profile.

  5. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

For EPOS® with a reference station:

  1. Install the reference station at the designated location.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

Instructions for Automower® 435X AWD NERA

  • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

Important: Before reinstalling EPOS® on the Automower® 435X AWD NERA, you must perform a factory reset of the mower. The app notifies and guides you to do this.

1. Replacing an existing reference station

If you are installing a new reference station in the same location - for example, to replace a damaged unit:

  1. Perform a factory reset on your Automower® 435X AWD NERA.

  2. Install the new reference station in the exact same spot as the old one. If the location changes, you’ll need to redo the entire EPOS® setup—including work areas, stay-out zones and other settings.

  3. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  4. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  5. Select Replace reference station.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the new station.

Your existing work areas, stay-out zones and other settings will remain unchanged.

4. Switching to reference station

If you’re switching from EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud to using a reference station:

  1. Perform a factory reset on your Automower® 435X AWD NERA.

  2. Install the new reference station at the designated location.

  3. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  4. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  5. Select New EPOS installation.

  6. Confirm to create a new profile.

  7. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Reference station

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

5. Using EPOS® in multiple locations

To use your robotic lawn mower with EPOS® in multiple locations—such as your home and summer house:

Note: You must perform a factory reset before setting up EPOS® at each new location.

For EPOS® via the Husqvarna Cloud:

  1. Perform a factory reset on your Automower® 435X AWD NERA.

  2. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  3. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  4. Select New EPOS installation.

  5. Confirm to create a new profile.

  6. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

For EPOS® with a reference station:

  1. Perform a factory reset on your Automower® 435X AWD NERA.

  2. Install the reference station at the designated location.

  3. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  4. Navigate to:

    • Map > Reference Station > Reinstall, or

    • More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  5. Select New EPOS installation.

Instructions for Automower® Aspire™ R6V, 308V and 312V

1. Switching to EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud

If your dealer installed a reference station, but you want to test if EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud works on your lawn:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  2. Navigate to: More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  3. Select New EPOS installation.

  4. Confirm to create a new profile.

  5. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

  3. Your old profile with the reference station remains available under Profiles and you can switch back to it at any time.

2. Using EPOS® in multiple locations

To use your robotic lawn mower with EPOS® in multiple locations, such as your home and summer house:

  • Create a separate profile at each location.

  • Each installation must use EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud.

  • Reference station installations at multiple locations require dealer assistance.

For EPOS® via Husqvarna Cloud:

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.

  2. Navigate to: More > Settings > Reinstall EPOS®

  3. Select New EPOS installation.

  4. Confirm to create a new profile.

  5. Choose your installation type:

  • Virtual Boundary with Husqvarna EPOS

  • Via the Husqvarna Cloud

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

  2. Define new work areas, stay-out zones, transport paths and other settings.

3. Reference station tasks requiring dealer assistance

What are profiles and how many can you create?

Show moreProfiles allow you to save different configurations for different locations or lawn setups, such as your home, summer house or a lawn area with specific settings.

Each time you reinstall EPOS®, a new profile is created automatically. Your previous profiles remain accessible in the profile section in the app.

  • Access your profiles via More > Settings > Manage Profiles.

  • You can store up to 10 profiles in the app.

  • Delete older profiles to make room for new ones.

  • Give each profile a clear name, such as “Home”, “Summer House” or “Spring flowers”, so it’s easy to identify and switch between them later.
