Chain is not moving freely
A sharp chain produces larger wood chips.
A dull chain produces smaller wood chips or saw dust.
Try this solution
Remove the plastic spacer and install the guide bar and chain
Check that the plastic spacer located near the bar stud between the bar cover and the chassis has been removed. This spacer is used for shipping only and will prevent proper chain installation if left in place. After removing the spacer, install the guide bar and chain according to the instructions.
