To check if the chainsaw is getting fuel, pull the starter rope three times. Remove the spark plug and check if the electrode is dry.
If the electrode is dry the saw is not getting fuel.
If your chainsaw is not getting fuel, this can often be easily fixed by checking the fuel line or cleaning/replacing the fuel filter.
The fuel filter helps feed fuel into the engine from the fuel tank. It connects to the internal fuel line and prevents wood chips, oil and dirt from contaminating the fuel. The fuel line is connected to the carburettor, which can be found near the throttle at the rear of your chainsaw. Check this fuel line to make sure it isn’t cracked or broken, as they can become brittle with age.
If you discover that the fuel filter is blocked, replace it.
Follow the step by step guide or the video on how to change the fuel filter.
For this you will need:
protective gloves
protective glasses
new fuel filter: please refer to your product's operator's manual for the correct fuel filter type
⚠️CAUTION: Before starting this procedure, make sure to empty the fuel tank. Do not smoke while performing this task!
Method:
Take out the old fuel filter using a special tool or your fingers.
Pull out the fuel hose from the tank unit so that the fuel filter can be removed.
Fit the new fuel filter and refit the fuel hose with filter in the tank unit.
