Indicators of a flooded engine could be:
A strong smell of fuel is coming out of the muffler.
The hedge trimmer is not firing.
1. Remove the spark plug.

2. Wipe the spark plug clean with a dry, lint-free cloth. Allow the spark plug and the top of the cylinder to air dry for approximately one minute. Take care to prevent dirt or debris from entering the cylinder.
3. Reinstall the spark plug and tighten it securely to the specified torque.
