Signs of a flooded engine include:
A strong smell of fuel coming from the muffler.

The engine does not fire or attempt to start when the starter cord is pulled.
1. Remove the spark plug.

2. Wipe the spark plug clean with a dry, lint-free cloth and allow both the spark plug and the top of the cylinder to air dry for about one minute. Ensure that no dirt or debris enters the cylinder during this process.
3. Reinstall the spark plug and tighten it securely to the manufacturer's specified torque. Ensure it is properly seated in the threads.
