Trimmer line is melting

Sometimes the line around the spool could melt together. This condition results from ultrasonic resonance of the line within the spool. It can happen with any type of line, but is more prevalent with round shaped line than with square or hexagonal line.

Try this solution

Correcting the line welding

Trimmer line can melt or fuse together ("line welding") when trimming continuously at high speed against hard surfaces such as fences, curbs, or walls. It can also occur if the line is loaded onto the spool with excessive twist.

To help prevent line welding:

1. Reduce the trimmer head speed when working near hard surfaces, and vary the throttle speed instead of operating continuously at full throttle.

2. When loading the spool, allow the trimmer line to hang freely and rotate the spool around the line. Avoid holding the spool stationary while winding the line onto it, as this can introduce twists that cause the line to bind and fuse together during operation.

If the trimmer line has melted or fused together, remove it and install new trimmer line of the type and diameter specified in your trimmer's operator's manual.

For the best performance and durability, we recommend using Husqvarna genuine trimmer line designed for your specific trimmer model.
