How to clean a cooling system on a hedge trimmer

This is an article on a cooling system maintenance for a hedge trimmer.

To keep your Husqvarna hedge trimmer in a good condition, make sure to clean the cooling system.

The cooling system keeps the engine temperature down.

The cooling system includes the cooling fins on the cylinder and the starter housing.

For this you will need:

  • Protective gloves

  • Cleaning brush

The parts of a cooling system are:

  • The air intake on a starter

  • The cooling fins on a cylinder

  • Flywheel

  • The cylinder cover

CAUTION: The air intake between the fuel tank and crankcase is easily blocked by leaves and debris. Always check and clean the air intake fully.

How to clean the cooling system

  1. Clean the cooling system with a brush once a week, or more frequently if necessary.

  2. Make sure that the cooling system is not dirty or blocked.
