Why won’t my new chainsaw chain fit into the groove of the chainsaw bar?
If the new chainsaw chain will not fit into the groove of the chainsaw bar, it is because you are using either the incorrect gauge chain or a damaged bar.
First, verify with the product packaging or your authorised dealer that the chain’s gauge (width of the lower part of the drive links) matches the gauge of the bar (the width of the groove). If not, replace the chain.
If the chain is correct, then the bar rails may be damaged and your original chain has worn to fit. In this case, replace the guide bar.
