How to know if the chainsaw chain is dull
Typically when the chain is sharp, larger chips of sawdust are produced while cutting. As the chain becomes dull, the sawdust will turn more to a powder. Seeing saw powder instead of chips means that the chain is very dull, and you should stop trying to use the saw immediately and have the chain sharpened.
